We create a simulated financial market and examine the effect of different levels of active and passive investment on fundamental market efficiency. In our simulated market, active, passive, and random investors interact with each other through issuing orders. Active and passive investors select their portfolio weights by optimizing Markowitz-based utility functions. We find that higher fractions of active investment within a market lead to an increased fundamental market efficiency. The marginal increase in fundamental market efficiency per additional active investor is lower in markets with higher levels of active investment. Furthermore, we find that a large fraction of passive investors within a market may facilitate technical price bubbles, resulting in market failure. By examining the effect of specific parameters on market outcomes, we find that that lower transaction costs, lower individual forecasting errors of active investors, and less restrictive portfolio constraints tend to increase fundamental market efficiency in the market
QLSE (quantitativo) aplicado a 141 pessoas e a entrevista Semi-estruturada (qualitativo)
aplicada a 9 pessoas.
The Population aging has been one of the main contemporary challenges of our time. The vast majority of people want to stay in their homes and in the community, in order to
avoid institutionalization, however a large part of the investments are directed towards
housing home responses rather than seeking community intervention responses that are
guided by an intervention that consider the needs of older people as well as well-being, capabilities and empowerment. The study analyzed the various dimensions of the quality of life of older people, as
well as capacities and empowerment, in two distinct contexts: institutional and in their homes. A Multi-method approach was applied, using the VITOR QLSE questionnaire (quantitative)
applied to 141 people and the Semi-structured interview (qualitative) applied to 9 people. The results indicated that the context in their homes has a positive and significant
influence on the dimensions of quality of life, with the exception of the dimension of health
and family. It was also concluded that most people consider staying in their homes as an integral
part of their well-being and quality of life and socializing and carrying out activities of their
own interests as a necessity. A community intervention can provide adequate answers to
people's needs, taking into account their interests and empowerment capacities

The practice of dance as extracurricular activity is related to higher motivation and physical activity level in students
The aim of the current study is to compare motivation, self-concept and physical activity level between students practicing dance as extracurricular activity and those who do not. The total of 200 students (mean age 8 ± 0.8 years) divided in two groups participated in the experiment: a) physical education (PE) and b) physical education combined with dance practices (PEDP). Two questionnaires were used, one for the parents (Schooling - Economic stratum) and one for students. The students’ questionnaire consisted of a structured interview divided in four parts: a) General information; b) Motivation; c) Self-concept; and d) Physical activity level. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used. Results showed that students in the PEDP group were more motivated by Status (p = 0.049) and General Affiliation (p = 0.010), whereas 88% of the students in the PE group showed higher social self-concept (p = 0.010). With respect to physical activity level, 100% (p = 0.000) of students in the PEDP group were active and showed screen time 3.88 hours per day (p = 0.000). It was possible concluding that students in the PEDP group showed higher motivation and physical activity level than those in the PE group, who showed better self-concept
